If you follow these simple steps, you will significantly increase the number of miles you drive without changing your tyres.
Check Tyre Pressure on a Regular Basis
Improper tyre pressure, or differences in pressure between tyres, make them wear unevenly. That is why a regular pressure control is necessary.
If the tyre pressure is below the prescribed, the tyre's durability can be reduced by 60%. Tyres wear unevenly, and the outside part of the tread surface wears more.
If the pressure is higher than prescribed, tyre's durability can be reduced by 20%. The middle part of the tread surface wears more.
Rotate Your Tyres
You should perform tyre rotation (changing tyre position from one axle to the other) after each 5-10,000 km. Tyres wear differently on different positions because of braking and cornering, e.g. tyres on front axle wear more quickly on cars with front-wheel drive. Don’t forget to check tyre pressure after changing tyre positions. Make sure that your tyres are mounted correctly, in accordance with the arrow on the sidewall.
Drive Calmly
Driving style can have a great effect on tyre wear. In order to prolong the life span of your tyres, you should always drive calmly, without sudden braking, and without cornering at high speed.
Pump Your Tyres with Nitrogen
Pumping tyres with nitrogen has many advantages, the most important being that the gas discharge is 3-4 times less compared to air. This ensures proper pressure in your tyres, which translates to a longer life span.

If you notice that you tyres wear unevenly, be sure to visit your tyre fitter. They will check your tyre pressure, whether your tyres are mounted properly, and whether balancing is necessary.
